The human being finds himself, or herself, in the middle. There is as much space outside the human, proportionately, as inside. "Stars, moons, and planets remind us of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Is there a bigger being walking with all the stars within? Does our thinking affect what goes on outside us, and what goes on inside us? I think it does. "Where does creamed corn figure into the workings of the universe? What really *is* creamed corn? Is it a symbol for something else?" -=-=-=-=-=-= "Diane....." -=-=-=-=-=-= "Diane, I received some very bad news today, Windom Earle has vanished. The disappearance of my former partner is extremely troubling. I also learned that Audrey Horne is missing. Audrey's absence touches me in ways I could not predict. I find myself thinking not of clues, or of evidence, but of the content of her smile." -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Did You Notice? (aka useless nitpicking ) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -- the barbershop quartet creating wonderful ambience ;) -- The meal on wheels... Chicken, Rice, and...well... sometimes creamed corn -- Harold's apartment is #2 -- Emory Battis' Big List of Fetishes: Submission Bondage, Blindfold, painted toenails, someone vaccuming the floor, and Icecubes preferably utilized by a snowman named 'Frosty' -- Each segment of the 'space gibberish' is a 4-digit message, one letter followed by three numbers, each segment seperated by a forward slash ('/'), such as /G578/M656/ etc -- James comes NOWHERE close to actually playing that godawful song -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Continuity Errors (aka goofs) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -- the mysterious 'phantom rhythm section' of JYI ;) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- References to other media -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - Pinocchio - Red Riding Hood, well, one version of it anyway -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Humour Excerpts -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- From the TP Humor Archive -- Cooper delivers an enthusiastic description of the colorful history of the spiritual journey of ancient Tibetans over coffee. Albert: Cooper, I'm thrilled to pieces that the Dharma came to King Ho-Ho-Ho, I really am, but right now I'm trying hard to focus on the more immediate problems of our own century right here in Twin Peaks. Cooper: Albert, you'd be surprised at the connection between the two. Albert: Color me amazed. Cooper: Ronette Pulaski has woken from her coma. I'm thinking she's going to have quite a story to tell when she regains the ability to speak... I'm going to show her sketches of ... Bob, the man... who came to me in my dream. Albert: Has anyone seen 'Bob' on earth in the last few weeks? Cooper: No, not yet. Albert: Okay. I performed the autopsy on Jacques Renault. Stomach contents revealed, let's see- beer cans, a Maryland license plate, half a bicycle tire, a goat and a small wooden puppet- goes by the name of Pinnochio. Cooper: You're making a joke! Albert: I like to think of myself as one of the 'Happy Generations'.... How do you feel? Cooper: Me? Albert: I believe it's customary to ask after the health of one recently plugged three times. Cooper: Thanks for asking. Albert: Don't get sentimental. Cooper: Who shot me Albert? Albert: My men are interrogating the hotel guests- the usual bumper crop of rural no-nothings and drunken fishermen. Nothing so far. Oh, the world's most decrepit room service waiter remembers nothing out of the ordinary about the night in question. No surprise there. Sènor Drool Cup, shall we say, has a mind that wanders. -- Jerry: Brother Ben, we've got two ledgers and one smoked cheese pig. Which one are we going to burn- and it ain't gonna be my pig! -- Norma delivers an endearing little warning to an indignant log lady about spitting her pitch gum around the diner. -- Meanwhile, back at the station house: Andy: When the Tacoma Sperm Bank was looking for donors, naturally, I applied. (Riley to Cooper, 2012) -- James sings with Donna and Maddy. James and Maddy exchange looks, Donna gets jealous, then gets a call from Harold Smith. The walking man is BOB. He is awoken by a call from Audrey. Blackie catches her. -- Nadine rips two pairs of leather restraints at the hospital. (Will to Ed, 2003) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Discussion and thoughts -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Reznik: Overall a pretty weak episode. Other than the introduction of Earle, the confirmation of 'the owls are not what they seem', the frightening appearance of BOB, and of course Audrey in a slick black dress ... not that much to write home about. And of course, this is truly the episode where we wonder WDJMEOASC? ;) -=-=-=-=-=-= Contributors -==--=-=-=-= Created and compiled by: Reznik
